Contractor Standings

Privacy & analytics

Contractor Standings is a set of static pages. There is no login, no account, and no advertising. We measure how the pages are used so we know which standings and claim pages people actually read. This page says what is measured and what is not.

What we use

Two tools run on every page:

Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and referrers without cookies and without building a profile of you.

Google Analytics 4 (G-5E5HZ9ETYZ) records page views and a few specific interactions, described below. It loads only on contractorstandings.com; on preview and development builds it does not run at all. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes a truncated form of your IP address to estimate approximate location and to tell one visit from another.

The interactions we record

Beyond the page view itself, four events are recorded, each with the path of the page it happened on:

Book-a-call click
when someone follows a Calendly scheduling link.
Email click
when someone follows a mailto: link.
Publisher link click
when someone follows the publisher link in the footer.
Badge embed copied
when a ranked company copies its badge embed code.

What is and is not recorded

Google Analytics records the path of each page you view. For the standing and claim pages that path includes the company’s public page address — the same address shown in your browser’s location bar. It never records email addresses, phone numbers, or Washington contractor registration (license) numbers. An email click records that a mailto: link was used, not the address it pointed to.

How to opt out

You can block analytics with any content blocker, with the built-in tracking protection in browsers such as Safari and Firefox, or with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The pages work the same with analytics blocked.
