How the score is built
Each company is scored out of 100 across four components.
- Reputation quality — 35 points
- Average rating, adjusted toward the field mean so a handful of five-star reviews cannot outrank a long record. Field mean C = 4.859, prior m = 10.
- Review volume — 35 points
- Log-scaled against the highest count in the field (122), so the hundredth review counts for less than the tenth.
- Review recency — 25 points
- Banded by days since the most recent review: within 30 days, 25.0; within 90 days, 18.75; within 180 days, 12.5; within 365 days, 6.25; over 365 days, 0.
- Profile completeness — 5 points
- Website 3, published hours 2.
A company needs at least 3 reviews to be scored. Three signals were dropped in v1.3 because they did not measure what they claimed: tenure, photo count, owner response rate. Registration date is published as a matter of record but is not scored, and is not a measure of years in business — a registration resets when a business restructures.
